Acupuncture for Pregnancy
Several trials have examined the effect of acupuncture on symptoms that occur in pregnancy and the effect of acupuncture on labour. Most of the trials examining the effect of acupuncture in pregnancy have focused on its action during and before labour, measuring labour pain and duration, as well initiation of labour when it is overdue.

How Acupuncture Supports Fertility
Improves uterine and ovarian blood flow to support implantation
Regulates hormonal cycles for ovulation and menstrual regularity
Reduces stress and anxiety, improving overall IVF success rates
Supports egg quality and sperm health
Eases common fertility-related symptoms, including menstrual pain and endometriosis discomfort
Evidence & Research
A systematic review (Cochrane, 2018) concluded acupuncture around embryo transfer increases pregnancy rates for women undergoing IVF.
Randomized trials show acupuncture reduces stress and anxiety during fertility treatments, which may positively influence outcomes.
Studies highlight improved uterine lining thickness and blood flow in patients receiving acupuncture as part of pre- and post-transfer protocols.
